1 INTRODUCTION

Mole Team Battle is a private Mole Shopper event created by myself, Magnus. It is inspired by the Team Battle mode in Tekken fighting games as it uses the same competition structure.

2 HOW THE COMPETITION WORKS

This modality has been thought to be played with 8, 10 or 12 players, divided into 2 teams. Details of each are as follows:

8 PLAYERS
- small amount of players
- maximum of 15 games
- perfect seed balance

10 PLAYERS
- ideal amount of players
- maximum of 19 games
- imperfect seed balance

12 PLAYERS
- large amount of players
- maximum of 23 games
- perfect seed balance

For this event's first edition, the 12-player format will be used. In order for this modality to be more easily understood, it will be explained with a list of players that are bound to participate as shown below:

Each player must order the other participants from strongest (1) to weakest (11) in a rating list according to their own judgement. The host, Magnus, must have the rating list of all players, including his own. This will be used to make the two teams as balanced as possible.

Once all lists are gathered by the host, the players' rating points will be counted and published on this site so as to define the seeds, which are referenced from an ordinary single elimination tournament bracket by standard and adapted to the Team Battle modality structure. The players who were rated stronger overall will have less rating points and the smaller seed number in the Team Battle structure. In case of a draw in rating points, the players' placements will be determined by who had higher rating by the majority of the remaining players. If any draw still persists, the players will be randomly drawn.

Below follows an example of how it works:

With the seeds assigned to the players, they are placed into the Team Battle structure as shown below:

With the players having been properly divided into the two balanced teams, the two lowest seeds start playing against each other. Each player gets knocked out after losing two games. Notice that in this modality, draws count as double K.O.s, so both players lose the game. Once a player loses twice, the next one in line from their team continues. Each player keeps facing the next opponents until either all opponents are beaten twice or until the player loses two games, their two lives ( ). The teams are seeded and the lower seeds play first, so that the latter players are expected to be able to play as well. The team who eventually remains with at least one life ( ) wins the team battle, although it is worth noticing that, despite being highly unlikely, the competition may end in draw.

Below shows an example of how the team battle results might look like:

As shown above, red lines mean victories by the red team; blue lines, victories by the blue team; and gray lines are draws.

3.1 MOLE TEAM BATTLE I

FORMAT: 12 PLAYERS

This is the section for the organization of the first Mole Team Battle, which means it will be constantly updated as players sign up, send out their rating list, and the competition results progress. The invited players must inform me all this data so I can keep the organization and progress of the competition up-to-date.

To begin this first edition of Mole Team Battle, I will keep the list of signed up players below updated as they accept my invite.

LIST OF PLAYERS:

With all players signed up, I will keep the Players' Ratings table updated as they send out their rating list to me:
